The Day!

The day of the wedding was a cloudy, gloomy day with a strong chance of rain.  Being an outdoor wedding this made me a bit weary but I figured there was really no point in worrying too much about it until the rain came...or didn't.  I decided I also didn't want to have to answer any more questions - what about this, where do you want this, etc etc. so I told my maid-of-honor that he one job was to answer all ridiculous questions.  I didn't care how she answered them, I trusted her judgement - she's my maid-of-honor for a reason!

Prep went really well.  My step-mom and her friend set up a great reception area while I hung out with the girls to get ready.  Hair, make-up, dress - everything was so well done, with little worry from me.

As crunch time was approaching everyone became really worried about the rain that was definitely coming.  Do we chance it?  Do we wait until THE time to decide?  Do we move the reception into the too small, too hot house?  With little concern or worry in my being I said that I really didn't care as long as I got to marry Jeremy today!  Who has that much calm and peace about rain during an outdoor wedding?  I never thought that would be me but here I was, calmly suggesting that we throw all the original planning and venue's normal rain-plan, and have everyone take their seats under the reception tent and we just do everything in there.  It was already decorated, no chairs needed to be moved.  Perfect plan...and so it was.  I think I may have been the first bride to suggest the not-so-brilliant but best option rain-plan idea for the venue.

This was the original plan...

And this is what we came up with...

It really turned out great.  Everyone had a close seat, there were fans in the tent, the sun was not beating down on us, most everyone already had a cool drink to help with the heat and humidity.  What a great plan!  Everything went well and I got to married this goofy, handsome man!  Really, I couldn't have asked for a better day.

God had a plan for this day and no amount of silly worries and questions, rain threat, or heat could disrupt his plan and my peace of mind!  Praise God for the 6 months He has given us so far and our prayer and deep desire is for many more years to come!  We have such amazing family and friends that went a long way to make not only this day a great day but have been with us for a long time and are sure to be there for our next big adventures!

Thanks to Laura at Ransom Photography for these wonderful pictures and everyone at Crenshaw Hall for all of your beautiful and hard work!
